Lauren Johnson is currently a course director for PGC. She attended her first PGC session as a sophomore in high school with Director Dena Evans. She was inspired and taught by “Coach D” to not only SCHAPE her own life but the lives of those around her.
Lauren is currently the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Augusta University (AU). Prior to AU, she served as an assistant coach at Southern Wesleyan University for four years. She has impacted the lives of seven All-Region, two All-Division, two NCCAA All-Americans, 10 All-Academic selections, and a Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Lauren competed for three years at South Carolina State University before transferring to Southern Wesleyan University (SWU). In her one season of competition at SWU she was named to the SSAC All-Conference Team, while also earning NCCAA South Region and All-American honors. She received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Athletic Leadership at Clemson University.
Lauren is known for sharing her passion and high energy for the game of basketball with as many athletes as she can. She looks for every opportunity to be a light to others through servant leadership. Her coaching philosophy is centered around building relationships with integrity, accountability, dedication, and respect. Her coaching motto is “There are two things you can always control: your attitude and your effort.”
