Melissa Zych was first introduced to PGC as a college athlete at St. John Fisher College, in Rochester, NY. She attended the former Point Guard Academy, led by PGC President Mano Watsa and PGC Director Tyler Coston. In 2012, Melissa joined PGC’s customer service team as a Registration Coordinator. She also served as a summer instructor.
Melissa continued her college career at D’Youville College where she played both basketball and tennis. In basketball, Melissa was a 3x All-Conference player and 2x team MVP. In 2008, she helped lead her team to win the NEAC Conference Championship and appeared in the Division III NCAA Tournament. She finished her career with over 1,000 points and was named D’Youville’s Student Athlete of the Year in 2010. In tennis, Melissa was team captain and was a 2x All Conference player. She helped lead her team to win second place at the AMCC Conference Championship in 2010. Melissa is also the second all-time leading scorer at Cardinal O’Hara High School with over 1,300 points.
Melissa graduated with a Masters in Adolescent Education and Bachelor of Mathematics. She is a certified NYS Grade 7-12 Math Teacher. She has coached basketball and tennis at the high school and college level.
Melissa is currently the Executive Assistant to Mano and the Technology Coordinator. Her and her husband, Jordan, live in Buffalo, NY.
