PGC Basketball needs your talented mind!

As our Human Resource Assistant Manager, you will be responsible to lead, coach, inspire, and manage a team of 1-2 direct reports and collaborate effectively with the PGC Accounting/Payroll department. The Assistant Manager also ensures the PGC is using the HRIS effectively and efficiently while keeping up with the latest HR trends. You will support all aspects of recruiting, selection, and onboarding year-round employees, seasonal employees and camp contractors. You will also work closely with the PGC Staffing Department.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and management of PGC’s HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and manage risk.
  • Oversee all aspects of applicant tracking, including hiring and onboarding of new employees.
  • Provide oversight in the engagement of 1099 contractors.
  • Identify, create & manage relationships with quality external recruiting outlets.
  • Oversee the relationship with Paycom, PGC’s HRIS including implementation of enhancements and development support.
  • Support PGC managers and departments in utilizing Paycom.
  • Establish processes and alignment between HR and all PGC departments.
  • Lead, coach and support direct reports.
  • Provide leadership and support to PGC managers and employees in the areas of HR best practices, Paycom use and PGC’s unique culture.
  • Oversee New Employee Orientation.
  • Support employee rewards & engagement programs.
  • Create best practices to support efficiency and sustainability during seasons of high growth & changing initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate…

  • Be available to work primarily Monday-Friday from 9am – 5pm CST and have availability on some nights and weekends during our peak camp season June-October.
  • Be able to work independently from a home office that allows for focused work with minimal distractions.
  • Have access to a personal computer with secure, reliable internet capabilities.
  • Minimal travel required (ie: team & company-wide retreats and observe a PGC camp).
  • SHRM-CP/PHR credentials.
  • Two years of experience in a leadership HR role and a good track record of career growth and management responsibilities.
  • Experience building teams through recruiting, screening and selecting employees.
  • Experience in project management, including creating new processes & systems to ensure successful implementation of changing strategies and new initiatives.
  • Excellence in building trust and relationship management skills.
