Requirements

  • Preference is given to applicants who are available for four or more sessions and who have the desire to work for PGC for multiple summers.
  • Must have played or coached in high school or college and completed first year of college (at a minimum).
  • Must complete in-depth pre-summer Instructor training and one training week prior to becoming a paid Instructor.

Physical Demands/Requirements

  • Basketball Demonstration: Ability to actively demonstrate basketball skills and techniques, including shooting, dribbling, and passing.
  • Walking/Standing: Capability to walk and be on your feet during all gym training sessions while engaging with participants throughout the gym for 5 consecutive days. Capability to walk long distances between dorms, classrooms, and the gym.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and/or transport equipment and boxes up to 40 pounds.

Job Description

  • Provide mentorship and positive role modeling to players on and off the court.
  • Oversee a group of 20 players on-court and provide timely feedback, reminders and encouragement.
  • Assist with demonstrations of PGC concepts and habits on-court.
  • Provide supervision in the dorms and assist with other off-court duties.
  • Create a strong connection with players on and off the court, including during meals.
  • Stay on campus for the duration of the session with staff and athletes for all overnight camps.

Site Manager

Qualities of a Site Manager

  • Able to represent PGC in a professional manner with parents, coaches, players, PGC staff, and conference services staff.
  • Able to build rapport with others easily.
  • Calm under pressure and able to resolve issues with poise and maturity.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and organized.
  • A self-starter who is detail-oriented with effective time management.
  • Able to source actions and attitudes from a desire to serve others.

Requirements

  • Must have completed college and have prior leadership experience (experience with PGC is preferred).
  • Must be available to work a minimum of four weeks, with preference given to those interested in longer term involvement with PGC.
  • Must complete PGC’s pre-summer training and a training week prior to becoming a paid Site Manager.

Physical Demands/Requirements

  • Walking: Capability to walk long distances across the college campus between dorms, classrooms, and the gym for 5 consecutive days.
  • Standing: Endurance to stand for extended periods during check-in, check-out, and gym training sessions.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and/or transport equipment and boxes up to 40 pounds.

Job Description

  • Manage all logistical details for the session and serve as the main point of contact between PGC and the college’s conference services staff.
  • Work closely with the Director to manage all aspects of check-in and check-out, and to adhere to all PGC’s risk management procedures and checklists.
  • Manage facility issues, player issues, hospital trips, and emergencies.
  • Track & report store sales, attendance & rooming lists, and gear inventory.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership to every aspect of a PGC course, including being responsible for the overall experience for 120+ players and coaches.
  • Teach PGC’s curriculum in the daily classroom sessions (2-3 hrs), film sessions (1 hr) & court sessions (6-7 hrs).
  • Lead daily staff meetings, manage the entire staff, and provide timely feedback.
  • Work closely with the Site Manager to oversee check-in, check-out, and uphold PGC’s risk management procedures.
