As a former three-time PGC athlete from 2019 to 2022, Chakaris understands firsthand how the game of basketball can be a powerful vehicle for building lifelong success both on and off the court.
Chakaris’s journey as a player is a masterclass in perseverance. A dynamic guard and forward who currently plays for Lake Erie College, Chakaris previously competed at Prairie State College and Judson University. Overcoming a major obstacle like a broken leg, Chakaris fought back to achieve significant career milestones, including a DII National Tournament appearance in the 2025-26 season, a Conference Championship appearance, and earning recognition as a two-year Juco/NAIA starter. On the court, Chakaris is widely known for playing hard, being highly vocal, and consistently “bringing the juice”—a contagious positive energy that elevates every single teammate.345
Chakaris’s coaching progression further highlights a deep commitment to developing the next generation of leaders. Chakaris served as a player-coach for the women’s basketball team at Prairie State College and directed young athletes as the head 6th-grade boys basketball coach for Vikings United, a feeder program for Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Having served as a PGC Basket Instructor from 2023 to 2025, stepping into the role of Director was a natural progression inspired by a passion for making an immense, lasting impact on young athletes’ journeys.672
Inspired daily by supportive parents, Chakaris lives by the philosophy, “To become the best, you must realize that better is better than best.” At PGC, Chakaris provides your child with the ultimate blueprint for greatness, teaching them how to outwork adversity, communicate effectively, and lead with unwavering character.
To become the best, you must realize that better is better than best.
