What does a typical day working a PGC Day Camp look like?

Day Camp starts with arriving at the gym between 8:15-8:30 AM to check in and greet the athletes before starting at 9 AM. We’ll spend the majority of the day on the court, with two classroom sessions and a 45-minute lunch at noon.

As a basket instructor, you’ll lead your group through new concepts and game-like situations. In the classroom, it’s important to model ideal student behavior—staying focused, asking questions, and engaging in group activities.

The day wraps up at 4 PM, followed by a brief staff meeting to recap and prepare for the next day.

What does a typical day working a PGC Residential Camp look like?

A typical day at a residential session is full of energy and growth. It starts with a class session where athletes dive into film, basketball fundamentals, leadership, and confidence. Then, it’s all about action on the court, where you’ll guide athletes through skills and game-like situations.

In between sessions, you will have time to get off your feet during meal supervision and staff meetings!

After the final module, you’ll continue providing world-class oversight in the dorms to ensure an exceptional experience. The day usually runs from 8 AM to 9 or 10 PM, depending on the course.

My first PGC experience has changed the entire trajectory of my coaching career and my life. I have been around the game my entire life and have never experienced such intellect and poise. Marke Freeman and the PGC staff explode with knowledge, work ethic, and gratitude. I am honored to have listened and learned from such inspiring individuals from a phenomenal organization.
