Aidan Moreno knows that growth often comes through adversity. His basketball journey has been defined by resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous improvement, qualities he now works to instill in every athlete he coaches.
Raised in New Mexico, Aidan earned the opportunity to play collegiate basketball at University of the Southwest. Just two weeks into his freshman year, however, he suffered a fractured ankle that required surgery and months of rehabilitation. Instead of letting that setback define him, Aidan embraced the challenge, returning to the court with a renewed perspective and determination.
He later transferred to Park University Gilbert, where he became a three-year starter while earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During that time, an assistant coach introduced him to PGC Basketball, where he discovered a philosophy centered on intentional habits, leadership, and personal growth—lessons that continue to shape the way he coaches today.
After graduation, Aidan returned to his alma mater as an assistant basketball coach, giving back to the program that helped shape him while pursuing his long-term goal of becoming a teacher. He believes coaching is about much more than developing better basketball players; it’s about helping young people become confident, resilient leaders who are prepared for success in every area of life.
At PGC Basketball, Aidan creates an encouraging, competitive environment where athletes are challenged to think, lead, and grow. His own journey reminds players that setbacks don’t determine their future—how they respond to them does.
“If you live a life for yourself, that life dies with you. If you live a life for others, that life lives beyond you.”
