Nia Allen’s basketball journey began in the heart of Rome, Georgia, where her love for sports was sparked at just 8 years old. Growing up, Nia excelled in both basketball and softball, but her passion for basketball truly ignited during her time at Model High School. Under the guidance of her inspiring head coach, Sally Echols, Nia thrived as both a player and a leader, setting the stage for a lifelong connection to the game.
Before her sophomore year, Nia attended a PGC Playmaker Camp led by former PGC Director, Sam Allen. That transformative week didn’t just sharpen her playmaking skills—it shifted her perspective on the game and life. For Nia, basketball became more than a sport; it became a ministry and a way to inspire and uplift others. Her high school years were filled with unforgettable moments, from state championship runs to heartfelt team devotions, all of which reinforced her belief that basketball is a vehicle for building character, leadership, and community.
Inspired by her experience as a PGC athlete, Nia joined the organization as a Basketball Instructor after high school, quickly falling in love with the camaraderie of the staff and the profound impact each camp has on young athletes. Her commitment to creating meaningful connections and empowering players keeps her deeply invested in PGC’s mission.
Today, Nia channels her passion for lifelong learning, confidence, and excellence into every camp she leads. She is dedicated to helping players not only improve their skills on the court but also grow into leaders who make a difference in their communities. With Nia as a director, parents can trust that their child will leave camp with more than improved basketball skills—they’ll gain the tools to excel in all aspects of life.
