Dear Coach,
We consider it a privilege to work with thousands of dedicated middle school, high school, and college players. And, recently we had the pleasure of working with one of your players at a PGC course.
Coaches of all levels send us their players each summer for one primary reason—we do everything possible to make their players better. Better students of the game. Better playmakers. And better leaders.
Unlike typical competition or exposure camps, our focus is on making each course the most basketball-intense, information-packed experience a player can have in the summer. Players typically leave PGC with a higher basketball IQ, a heightened passion for the game, and a greater commitment to improvement.
We recommend sitting down with your player to ask him or her to share with you their learnings about the game and about being a leader on and off the court. Ask your player to share his or her notes with you as well, along with the creative vocabulary we use at PGC. While you likely have your own terminology, our key phrases will hopefully assist your player in explaining the concepts that were taught.
You may also find it beneficial to ask your player how he or she has specifically improved. Please know though, players typically need some coaching with applying the concepts they learned. And, if there is a particular teaching point that is different than what you teach, we emphasize to players their coach is always right. Our goal is to continually be a support to you by teaching the things most coaches don’t have time to teach, but wish their players knew.
On a final note, if you were responsible for your player attending PGC, we greatly appreciate your support. We hope you will be pleased with the results, and we look forward to working with more of your players in the future. Our mission is to be a light in the basketball world, and we rely on coaches like yourself to help us accomplish this as we strive to positively impact how the game is played and taught.
Thank you again for your support, and we wish you all the best in the upcoming season.
Yours in basketball,
Mano Watsa,
President, PGC Basketball
