Austin was born in Toronto, Canada and fell in love with the game of basketball at the age of 10.
He played for Pickering High School, a school which has produced countless Division 1 players, including NBA player, Cory Joseph. After graduating, Austin continued his playing career at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It was during this time on the court that he discovered his true calling: coaching.
Through this passion he is thankful to have been able to help many athletes to reach the collegiate and university levels. In 2021, he began his professional coaching career as a member of the Newfoundland Rogues Pro Basketball Coaching Staff.
During his offseason in 2023, Austin discovered PGC and fell in love with the organization’s culture of fostering the growth of young leaders both on and off the
court. For him, there is no greater joy than helping athletes to progress, learn and grow. His mission is
to ensure that every athlete he has the privilege of working with benefits profoundly from their time together.
