  • 70% of kids stop playing sports by age 13.

    Seventy percent…that’s alarming.

In fact, it’s so alarming that organizations like the Aspen Institute created a “Don’t Retire, Kid” campaign, enlisting the help of many influential athletes in an effort to keep kids more active in sports at a young age.

Now, there are a number of reasons why kids are quitting sports in droves (parents get too serious, coaches yell too much, the pressure becomes unbearable, and the list goes on and on…)

But the #1 reason kids quit is because they aren’t having fun.

In a 2014 study for George Washington University led by Amanda J. Visek, kids offered 81 unique characteristics of fun…

Winning (#48), playing tournaments (#63), and practicing with private trainers (#66) did not finish high on the list.

    Here’s what did:

    1. Trying your best
    2. Getting more playing time
    3. And, playing well together as a TEAM

These are 3 of the reasons why we created our PGC Skills Academy Day Basketball Camps. Our Skills Academies foster an environment where your child can learn foundational basketball and leadership skills – all while having fun.

    And guess what?

This summer we’re offering 13 PGC Skills Academies for kids in the 4th – 7th grade.

When asked about it, PGC Camp Director Kyle Koszuta said, “With the help of local coaches and community organizers, we’re grateful for the opportunity to run camps for young kids who are passionate about the game of basketball and want to get better.”

“If we can play even a small part in helping kids get back to enjoying the game and avoiding ‘retirement’ before they even get to high school, that’s a huge victory in my book.”

If you’re a parent who’s interested in helping your child become one of the most skilled players on the floor, check out our 2022 PGC Basketball Day Camp Schedule:

“Our Skills Academy camps have been purposely designed to maximize the learning experience – while having lots of fun too.” says Mano Watsa, President of PGC. “We focus on teaching five key skills – ball control, shooting, passing, vision, and movement.”

But, it’s not just about the basketball skills…

It’s about the life lessons that your child will learn, both on and off the court, the friendships they will build, and the memories they will make, that will be unlike any other camp experience they have this summer.

If your child loves the game and wants to improve their basketball skills this summer in a fun and electric environment, then PGC is the place to be.

Register for a Skills Academy Camp before March 15th at midnight and receive $75 off.

If your child attends an entire camp and you aren’t completely satisfied with the basketball education they received, we’ll give you a 100% refund.
