    BASKETBALL TEACHING
Instruct before a mistake is made. Not after.

If you want to instruct in a way that is really going to help your team, you need to instruct before the bad thing happens, before the play takes place.

Then the teammate you instruct will take your instruction as encouragement and as a reminder, and they will be grateful to you after the play instead of irritated.

    ― Dick DeVenzio
    Founder of PGC Basketball

    LIFE LESSON
Remember…start each day with a task completed. Find someone to help you through life. Respect everyone. Know that life is not fair and that you will fail often. But if you take some risks, step up when times are toughest, face down the bullies, lift up the downtrodden, and never, ever give up—if you do these things, then you can change your life for the better… and maybe the world!

    – Admiral McRaven

    EDUCATIONAL TIP
The people you associate with have a major impact and influence on your personal success.

You can often tell where most people are going to end up in life simply based on who they hang around.

So try this – associate higher.

Doing so will expand your mind to greater possibilities.

It is natural to feel most comfortable with people who are like you, and that’s OK.

But now and then it’s good to step outside of your comfort zone and spend time with friends who can expose you to greater things, new information and a higher level of living.

    – Stacia Pierce
