    BASKETBALL TIP
Nostril time – any time you have the ball near the basket, take the ball straight up into the nostrils of the player guarding you (even if they are a lot taller than you).

It’s much easier for a shot blocker to get to a fade-away, in most cases, than to defend a shot put up past their nose.

A shot taken right up through the nostrils forces the defender to defend themselves and keep their hands near their face, instead of outstretched and waiting to swat the ball.

In addition, foul trouble is a constant worry of good shot blockers (or any player), and a ball put up near the nostrils will often be awarded two free throws if there is contact.

    LEADERSHIP LESSON
“Good communication gets measured not at the speaker’s mouth but at the listener’s ear.”

    – Kim Scott

    LIFE PRINCIPLE
“To be “well” is not to live in a state of perpetual safety and calm, but to move fluidly from a state of adversity, risk, adventure, or excitement, back to safety and calm, and out again. Stress is not bad for you; being stuck is bad for you.”

    – Emily Nagoski
