  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Do It Right

I’ve been pulling weeds and I was asked, “Mano, why are you pulling the weeds back behind the bushes? Nobody’s ever going to see them.”

    And the answer is simple.

If I’m going to do a job, I’m going to do it right.

My dad instilled that in me from an early age. On Sunday afternoons we’d cut the grass and do every aspect of our lawn, and my dad would catch me not doing things right when I was growing up. And he’d say, “Son, no shortcuts. Do it right. Get the job done.”

    So I never stopped early.

It’s just ingrained in me. Even if people are not going to see something, I’m going to do it right because it’s always good to do something to the best that it can be done.

You develop a sense of pride when you just get in the habit of doing things right, whether it’s schoolwork, basketball training, a project, whatever it may be.

My challenge to you is get in the habit of doing it right.

    No shortcuts, ever.

You’ll grow your sense of pride in everything you do when you take that approach.

That’s your Monday Mindset – do it right.
