Stop It

Today’s Monday Mindset: Stop It
Stop trying to change and control others.
It’ll only frustrate you and annoy them.
Why? Because nobody wants to feel manipulated or controlled.
Everyone wants to have a sense of self-control and self-determination. When you try and control others or change others, they’ll just naturally push back.
You’ve probably experienced this. They’ll get frustrated and resent you for it. You’ll get annoyed and try and guilt trip them into changing.
It never works. It never hasn’t.
Do these three things instead.
Number one, model the behavior you want them to take on.
Number two, invite them to join you in the behaviors that you want them to take on.
And then third, when needed, as some people only change when they must change, not when they want to change or need to change, but when it’s a must.
When needed, give an ultimatum. When you give an ultimatum, either this or that, it still allows them a sense of self-control because they get to choose.
Put those into practice.
That’s my challenge and that’s your Monday Mindset.
