On the Bench, True Leaders, and Engineered Serendipity
Jan. 27 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
When you’re on the bench, gather information!
Most players sit & wait to get back into the game.
Instead of waiting & resting, be learning.
About the person you’re guarding.
About the tendencies of the other team.
About how to gain advantages when you go back in.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
They do not set out to be a leader, but become one by the quality of their actions and integrity of their intent.
– Douglas MacArthur
LIFE PRINCIPLE
Engineered Serendipity.
Some of what we call “luck” is actually the macro result of thousands of micro actions.
Your daily habits can put you in a position where “luck” is more likely to strike.
It’s possible to increase your serendipity surface area and engineer your own luck.
– Sahil Bloom
