May 12 | The 3-Point Play
Become the smartest on the floor.
Then, you don’t have to be as quick, strong, or tall.
Instead, you recognize opportunities before others, see things others don’t see, and create plays that make you look bigger than you are.
When you do these things, coaches will say, “they know HOW to play.”
Building culture in large part is about your ability to sustain focus on what’s important when something else feels more urgent.
A critical quality for success is the ability to change your mind. A lot of ideas are bad until they’re good. And a lot of ideas are good until they are bad.
– Shane Parrish

3-Point Play: On fakes, inspiring leaders, and guiding principles
Most players would instantly improve by doing one thing. The problem though, is this one skill is under-taught, undervalued & underused.
3-Point Play: On conditioning, the process, and courage
No one is overjoyed with the thought of conditioning. It’s tough. It’s demanding. It hurts. But it’s the simplest way to gain an edge. To be a champion, get in great physical condition.
3-Point Play: On game point mentality, feedback, and appreciation
You know that moment in pickup when it’s 2-1 & no one cares about defense? Then, it’s tied up at game point & everyone turns into a floor-slapping defensive ninja warrior constantly yelling, “1 STOP.” Yeah, be that defender with game-point mentality — not just some of the time, — but ALL the time.
