June 23 | The 3-Point Play
No one gets cut from their team because they can’t make a step-back or fade-away.
They get cut because they can’t:
- Take care of the ball
- Make good decisions
- Handle pressure
- Make open shots
- Lock down on D
“Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.”
— Peter Drucker
“What’s boring doesn’t get attention and what’s exciting doesn’t drive results.
Most people are so focused on optics they forget that it’s the repetition of the boring basics that makes a difference.”
– Shane Parrish
Welcome to the 3-Point Play, where you’ll get a quick dose of wisdom to enhance your game and life.
Whether you’re a player, parent, or coach, join to get a:
- basketball tip
- leadership lesson,
- and life principle
…that’s easy to apply to your life.
3-Point Play: On being ahead, changing the world, and comparison
Comparison is the thief of joy when applied broadly, but the teacher of skills when applied narrowly.
3-Point Play: On practice speed, the efforts of many, and habits
Practice at a speed that makes you uncomfortable so, in a game, you feel confident playing at a speed that makes your opponent uncomfortable.
3-Point Play: On balanced scoring, gardening, getting the crap done first
Do the things you like least first. When you have energy, it’s easier to get an unpleasant thing done. When you’re tired, it is nearly impossible. Whether it’s yard work or studying, get the crap over with soon. Save the best till last.
PGC Basketball provides intense, no-nonsense basketball training for players and coaches. Our basketball camps are designed to teach players of all positions to play smart basketball, be coaches on the court, and be leaders in practices, games and in everyday life.
We combine our unique PGC culture with a variety of teaching methods and learning environments to maximize the learning potential of those that attend our sessions. In addition to spending 6-7 hours on the court each day, lessons will be reinforced through classroom sessions and video analysis.
