On Nodding, Taking Ownership, and the Right Timing
Sept. 29 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
When your coach tells you how they want something done and you understand what they’re saying — nod to them.
Your nod doesn’t have to be some grand gesture. Just a slight tilt of recognition and eye contact that says, “I’ve got it, coach.”
This nod will give that little bit of extra satisfaction that will urge them to keep doing their best to help you improve.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“On any team, in any organization, all responsibility for success and failure rests with the leader.
The leader must own everything in his or her world.
There is no one else to blame.
The leader must acknowledge mistakes and admit failures, take ownership of them, and develop a plan to win.”
– Jocko Willink
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“You can hear something over and over and over and over and over and still not really hear it. It does not click. No lo comprendo. Until you’re ready to hear it. And then it is deafening.”
― Jen Sincero
