  • Today’s Monday Mindset: How to Get More of What You Want

In today’s Monday Mindset, I want to share with you how you can get more of what you really want.

I just got done with a workout here, and I’ll show you the weights. I got to work myself up for these workouts because every Sunday morning, I do my heavy lift with my legs. I do power squats, and I’m still catching my breath here.

    And here’s a thing, there’s no shortcuts.

If you want to get more of what you really want, here it is….

You’ve got to do the work.

And believe me, I wish this wasn’t the case. I wish I could just get more of what I wanted by thinking about it, praying about it, writing about it.
But no, you got to do the work.

If you want to be in great shape, you got to do the work. If you want to lose weight or feel better, you got to do the work. You’ve got to eat more greens, drink two or three glasses of water when you first get up in the morning, get rid of all the junk in your kitchen, fridge, or pantry.

You’ve got to do the work.

If you want to have a better lifestyle and have more financial resources available, you’ve got to do the work. You’ve got to save and invest and save more than you spend.

If you want to have a great marriage, you’ve got to do the work. You’ve got to spend time each day working on your marriage. Go out on a date every week or two. If you want to have great relationships with your kids, you’ve got to do the work. You’ve got to invest time into them daily.

If you’re a player and want to have a great relationship with your coach. You’ve got to do the work. I went and saw my college coach every single day over the course of my entire college career outside of practice just to touch in and build a relationship and find out what he was thinking.

You’ve got to do the work.

If you want to be a great player, a great athlete in anything, you’ve got to do the work every single day.

There’s no shortcuts. Believe me, I wish there was. I wish there was a way.

My goal is to still be able to dunk when I’m 50. I got five years to go. If I don’t do these leg workouts consistently and jump workouts through the week, it’s never going to happen.

I’ve got to do the work. I don’t always like it. I don’t always want to do the work, but I know there are no shortcuts to getting more of what you want.

    Do the work today.
