  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Stick With It

We’re here at the University of Waterloo. You see my son Isaac in the background graduating senior night and what a career he’s had.

Not because of the success, but because of what he’s endured, who he’s become, and the experience that he’s had just by sticking with it.

And just last year he was the 18th man redshirted. Now here he is a starter, helping to lead the team, and I’m just really proud of him as a dad.

But more significantly, my challenge to you is to stick with it, even when times are tough and it’s so easy.

When the pandemic hit, when he had multiple years of injuries that prevented him from playing, it would’ve been so easy to give up.

And my challenge to you is you never know what can happen if you just stay the course. And it’s not easy to stay the course when times are tough.

But if I’ve learned one thing in life, it’s the only time to give up on something is when things are good, not when things are bad.

You’ve got to stay the course when things are tough because on the other side of that might be much success.

So stay the course and stick with it.

That’s my challenge and that’s your Monday mindset.
