The Steph Curry Effect

Today’s Monday Mindset: NBA Draft Combine Insights
I just got home from our first PGC camp of the summer in Atlanta and my favorite classroom session of the week is the one in which we teach the Steph Curry Effect.
Steph Curry, as the greatest shooter in the world, is probably an even better teammate than he is a shooter. And he puts into practice these two qualities:
1. He’s quick to acknowledge others, to make teammates feel seen. He makes fans feel seen.
And if you want to be a great leader, a great teammate, make those around you feel seen by acknowledging them with a smile, with eye contact, with a fist bump, anything you could do to make others feel seen makes them feel valued.
2. Steph Curry lights up others. He makes others feel energized, feel happy to be around him by his cheerfulness, by his laughter, by his energy. He lights up others.
If you’re going to be a great teammate and a great leader, you need to make others not just feel seen but feel energized by your presence by lighting them up.
Put those two things into practice and you too can live out the Steph Curry Effect.
That’s my challenge, and that’s your Monday Mindset.
