  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Train Your Brain

Here’s a really simple way to train your brain to let go of negative emotions because we all have moments of frustration, disappointment, and discouragement.

It’s part of being human, and I’ve certainly felt those emotions over the past eight weeks as I recover from my Achilles rupture.

The goal isn’t to not have negative emotions, it’s to collapse timeframes for how long you live in those emotions.

    Here’s the three steps:

The first is to become aware of what you’re feeling and to actually be able to give it a name. I’m feeling sad right now. I’m feeling mad. I’m feeling disappointed.

And then secondly, to just allow yourself to feel it. And once you’ve allowed yourself to feel it, don’t continue to sit in it and dwell in it and continue to tell yourself that same sad or frustrating story.

Because then the third is to change your story. I do that by reminding myself of the things I’m grateful for. So you become aware of it, acknowledge it, feel it, and then change your story.

    Put that into practice.

You can change any negative emotion, collapse the timeframes, so you get back to feeling the joy and the life and vibrancy that you want to feel each day.

That’s my challenge, and that’s your Monday Mindset.
