Do The Work

Today’s Monday Mindset: Do The Work
I’m here at an Indiana Pacers game coming up in about an hour and a half, two of our long time members of our PGC family coach with the Indiana Pacers.
It’s impressive to watch these players warm up for a game and to watch them putting in the work. And it’s easy to just think that these professional athletes, regardless of the sport, just have these amazing physiques. They’re six foot eight, athletic, could jump out the gym, but it’s more than that. I’ve played with a lot of players that size who aren’t in the NBA, with that level of athleticism who aren’t in the NBA because it requires, no matter what your natural abilities are, a tremendous amount of work, discipline, dedication, and consistency. Watching these guys pursue the mastery of their craft is really, really impressive.
My challenge to you is whatever you want to be great in, or even whatever you want to get better in, you have to do the work. You have to do the work each and every day.
If you want to learn another language, you got to do the work.
If you want to do better in math, you got to do the work.
If you want to grow your skills as a businessman or businesswoman or in your career, you’ve got to find a way to do the work every day.
What you have to figure out is what is the work? What is something you want to become great in? Not many are going to go on to become the best 350 basketball players in the world, but we can all be great in something. So figure out what you want to be great in, and then do the work.
That’s your Monday mindset.
