On Playing Low, New Opportunities, and Seeking Feedback
Mar. 16 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
Here’s a simple rule to follow for on ball defense…
Staying low = winning on D
Make sure your head is always lower than the head of the player you are guarding.
If you keep your head lower, you will be more ready to move than them. If they lower their head to drive, you need to lower your head even more to stay in front of them.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“There is no perfect fit when you’re looking for the next big thing to do.
You have to take opportunities and make an opportunity fit for you, rather than the other way around.
The ability to learn is the most important quality a leader can have.”
― Sheryl Sandberg
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“As soon as possible, experts hungrily seek feedback on how they did. Necessarily, much of that feedback is negative.
This means that experts are more interested in what they did wrong — so they can fix it — than what they did right.
The active processing of this feedback is as essential as its immediacy.”
– Angela Duckworth
