On Tightrope Walking, Authenticity, and Patience in the Process
June 29 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
Don’t dribble anywhere with the hope of missing the line by an inch.
Don’t take the ball some place that demands a high wire act to get there.
Don’t get your body in a position where a slight push can put you out of bounds.
Play strong, expect a push, and be sure your body is prepared to get moved a bit on your way to the basket.
If there is only an inch or two to spare, there isn’t room to go at all.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“Authenticity is critical to building a relationship of trust. And that means you need to “declare your intent.”
Declaring your intent involves opening your agenda, giving the why behind the what. It is a great practice in using vulnerability to operationalize authenticity.”
– Stephen M.R. Covey
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“One day, you are going to look back on this time and understand the purpose in the timing, in the delays, in the choices you have to make.
One day, you are going to look back on this time and realize that you were far closer to the breakthrough than you knew.
One day, you are going to look back on this time and realize that the road did rise to meet you, as it always did before, and as it always will.
One day, you are going to look back on this time and realize you were always right where you were meant to be.”
– Brianna Wiest
