On Taking Criticism, Not Taking Shortcuts, and Grappling
Dec. 22 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TEACHING
Criticism is going to be a large part of any basketball experience if the goals are excellence and winning.
No one ever said you have to like criticism. But you certainly must be able to take it and learn from it.
If you haven’t yet gotten accustomed to criticism enough to have already developed a useful response, it is time you start making some giant steps toward changing and finding one.

LIFE LESSON
“When the reward is the activity itself – deepening learning, delighting customers, doing one’s best – there are no shortcuts.”
― Daniel H. Pink
EDUCATIONAL TIP
Commit yourself to grappling.
Go to class and listen.
Do the assignments.
If you don’t understand, try.
Try to participate.
If you mess up or say something “stupid”, so what?
So you don’t know everything. Big deal.
Stay involved.
Stay active.
Grapple.
