  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Expect Adversity

Why is it that we’re so often surprised when adversity comes our way in sports and in life?

    Expect adversity. It’s inevitable.

In sports, it might be an injury, it might be losing, it might be not getting playing time. Tough times are going to come.

And the same can be said for life. We’ll all go through difficulties and challenges. So why not choose your mindset now for how you’re going to approach that adversity?

And we need adversity because it helps us to develop grit. Grit is the strength to persevere through obstacles, and you can develop that mindset and prepare yourself for it by just thinking about how you’re going to respond when difficulties come instead of being surprised that they came.

    So expect adversity.

Plan for it and plan how you’re going to show up.

And when you do that, you’ll position yourself to thrive in the midst of any challenge.

So put that into practice. Expect adversity.

That’s my challenge. That’s your Monday mindset.
