Today’s Monday Mindset: No One Wins Alone
So I’ve got a really important principle I want to share with you today, and I’ll use the backdrop of what’s taken place this past week to help hit it home.
If you follow PGC at all you know we opened our Summer 2022 Basketball Camp registration a week ago, and we have had the most incredible, amazing response from our entire PGC community.
And as I had a few family members say to me, Mano, congratulations on the great launch, I was reminded of a principle I learned years ago, and it’s simply no one wins alone.
Any level of success you have in any realm of life comes because of others.
For example, if you played tennis and you won a tennis tournament, you could never think well, I did that on my own. Sure your hard work will have contributed, but you will have had parents or someone who drove you to practice every day. You will have had a coach that challenged you and made you better. You would have had teammates to play with and compete against to help you become the player that you had become.
And so no one wins alone.
Whether it’s school, sports, business, any realm of success, you win as a team, you win because of others who contribute to your success.
And if you ever lose, and we all experience losing at different times, the best thing you could do as a leader is accept responsibility and accept the criticism that comes with it. But when you win deflect the praise to others.
And so today I want to share my gratitude to our entire PGC staff who’ve worked so tirelessly to bring to life our 2022 summer camps, and to all of our faithful coaches who send us players year after year, and to all of our parents and players in our PGC community, so grateful for each of you.
And my challenge to you today is to think of something that you’re having success in right now, today, this week, this month, this year, and think of who has contributed to that success and take the time to express your gratitude towards them.
Why? Because no one wins alone.
And that’s your Monday Mindset.
