Today’s Monday Mindset: Read More
We just finished a session here at our PGC Coaching Clinic in Chicago with one of the top college NCAA coaches in the country, Coach Mike Neighbors.
He talked about the value of reading and how once we become adults, the only two things that really cause us to change are the people we spend time with and the books that we read and learn from.
I’ve been a reader for a few decades now, and I was just inspired to read more.
My challenge to you is, as he said, “if you’re not a reader, start reading. Find something you love, and even if it’s short books or short chapters, find something to read. It’s different than listening to podcasts, different form of learning, different way it sinks in, different way of learning than videos or documentaries or anything else.”
I’m challenged by time, as I’m sure many of you are, and how do you find time to prioritize reading in the midst of all the responsibilities that you have?
Mike told me he takes a book with him everywhere, even if he only has 5-10 minutes. He reads.
He is an avid reader, one of the best learners I’ve ever come across.
My challenge is read more.
That’s your Monday Mindset.
