Stay the Course

Today’s Monday Mindset: Stay the Course
There are many things in life, we give up on too early.
Maybe you start to eat healthier but then stop.
Maybe you start to workout but then stop.
I know many basketball players who start with all this great ambition for training but then they stop.
When I started these Monday Mindsets, I decided to stay the course. I was going to stick with it and see what happens over time. Now I’ve officially been doing 18 months of Monday Mindsets, unofficially two years, as I was doing videos prior to the official start of the naming convention Monday Mindsets.
And here’s what I’ve come to realize – by staying the course, it allowed the impact to increase over time.
Had I just done one Monday Mindset or maybe just one a couple times here and there, I don’t think it would’ve ever gained traction. But by staying the course, by sticking with it, now over 10,000 people are watching Monday Mindsets.
While that’s not an enormous number when you think of the social media influencers out there, it’s still a lot more than when I first started.
I’ve been encouraged to think about other things in my life in which I need to stay the course. Other areas to not give up on and to stick with something long enough to see the benefits.
Another great example is my weekly schedule of working out. I’m reminded things don’t happen overnight. You can’t change and transform your body overnight. You can’t suddenly become strong by just spending eight hours in the weight room in a single day. No. You’ve got to do it over a prolonged period of time, consistent effort wins.
My challenge to you is – whatever you want to get better at, whatever you want to see dramatically improve in your life, know you can’t do it in a day, in a week, and often not even a month. But if you stay the course a little bit over time, you can have an impact on yourself and potentially others. And it may be far greater than you ever imagined.
Stay the course.
That’s your Monday Mindset.
