  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Assume the Best

All right, if you want to develop a more positive approach to your day to day life, I’ve got a really simple principle for you to apply.

    Assume the best.

It’s so easy to assume the worst about others, to think the worst.

Why would they have done that? Why would she have said that?

We just assume the worst, instead of assuming the best.

I’m sure there’s a reason that he decided to do that. I’m sure there’s a reason she decided to say that.

You can not only assume the best about people – but also assume the best about your circumstances.

An example would be, my career as a basketball player. I sprained my ankle really badly in my final year and I could have just assumed the worst, “Oh gosh, there goes my senior year. There goes my hopes and dreams.

But instead I did my best to assume the best.

How is this going to work for my good?

There’s a scripture verse that says, “All things work together for good.” I hang onto that scripture and it’s part of my positive outlook – to assume the best about every situation.

To assume every situation is going to work out for the best, to be curious. “I wonder how this is going to turn for the good.

Whether it’s people or circumstances, if you want to have a more positive outlook in life, assume the best.

    That’s your Monday Mindset.
