On Used-Up Dribbles, the Right Software, and the Defining the Impossible
June 08 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
A good team should react to a used dribble like a flock of hungry vultures to a carcass in the desert.
A used-up dribble changes all the rules of defense.
Suddenly, no one needs to help, the ball cannot penetrate to the basket, and a pass must be thrown in five seconds.
A dribble-used situation is an excellent opportunity to force a turnover, if your team reacts like vultures and plays tough immediately.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“The hardware of a computer is useless without the right software. Similarly, in an organization the hardware (strategy and structure) is inert without the software (beliefs and behaviors).”
– Larry Bossidy
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare.
Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
– Muhammad Ali
