On palms-up defense, powerful storytellers, and living the good life
April 4 | The 3-Point Play
BASKETBALL TIP
Keep Up Palms – KUP
When you get in the habit of playing palms-up defense you will find that you can get away with making contact often because when you reach palms-up, it does not look like a foul.
KUP will also help you stay on balance and in good position on defense.
The habit of reaching palms-down causes you to lunge and put all your weight forward, and then get beaten. But reaching palms-up does not cause this same tendency.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“Stories are the single most powerful weapon any leader can arm themselves with – they are the currency of humanity. Those who tell captivating, inspiring, emotional stories rule the world.”
– Steven Bartlett
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“If you want to create capacity and margin in your life, I suggest that you do the following:
– Delegate so you’re working smarter, not just harder.
– Do what you do best and drop the rest.
– Get control of your calendar; otherwise other people will.
– Do what you love because it will give you energy.
– Work with people you like so your energy isn’t depleted.
If you do those things while doing the right work with purpose in the right place with people you love, you will be living the good life.”
– John C. Maxwell
