Today’s Monday Mindset: Find a Way
If you watched last week’s Monday Mindset, you know that I’m in the midst of a 49 day challenge.
The first seven days is to run a mile every single day and here I am tonight getting ready to run my mile. I came here to the track – this door behind me, goes into the track and the track is locked up. So, I have to improvise because that is a winner’s mindset (a recent topic at our PGC Basketball Clinics this past weekend), champion’s mindset. And what do champions do? They find a way.
So, right behind me there’s a hockey rink and on this side guys are playing hockey, but this upstairs open area is about to be my track to run this mile. I actually did it a couple nights ago as well. I was hoping the track was actually going to be open tonight, but it wasn’t so 14 laps one mile and I’m about to get after it.
And so, my simple challenge to you is find a way whatever your circumstance might be.
That’s what I tell my basketball teams, regardless of the adversity – if you’re down nine with 30 seconds left in the game, if you’re down 12 and it seems impossible. Can you find a way? That’s what champions do, they find a way. And you can find a way. So, stop making excuses, stop complaining about your situation or blaming somebody else for it and do everything possible to turn your situation into a winning situation. Just like I’m about to right here.
Find a way.
And that’s your Monday Mindset.

Monday Mindset: Do More
We didn’t know what we were going to see when we got invited to this but we did. And here’s what happened plus why we were so glad we went.
Monday Mindset: Are You a Sheepdog?
I was watching the U18 Ontario volleyball championships and saw the most incredible young leader. Will was the smallest player on the court, yet his value was undeniable. In fact, they were a totally different team when he wasn’t on the court.
Monday Mindset: Say Yes
This weekend I stretched myself and did something I’ve never done before. When you have the chance to do something that takes you out of your comfort zone, just SAY YES…You’ll be better for it.
