How To Play Free

Today’s Monday Mindset: How To Play Free
Most athletes never play to their full potential because they don’t know how to play free.
And in life, many of us don’t know how to live free so we can’t live to our full potential.
As an athlete, how do you play to your full potential and play free, you might wonder…
Well, it all starts with learning how to accepting yourself.
No athlete has ever played a perfect game. Not in any sport. Not at any level of play. Yet as athletes, we judge ourselves and we criticize ourselves constantly. And as long as we’re judging ourselves, we’re not gonna be able to play free.
It requires being able to look at your past performance and accept yourself as a joyful work in progress – good and getting better every day.
It’s the same in life.
We all make mistakes and fall short from time to time. But your ability to let go of your past disappointments, mistakes, and shortcomings, is what dictates how successful you’ll be at living (and playing) free.
And when you can do that, it sets you up to play at your best because there’s nothing from your past that’s holding you back from being at your best in the present time and in the future.
So, practice self acceptance.
You’re good and getting better.
A joyful work in progress.
Accept that, and embrace that, and you’ll be able to play free or you’ll be able to live free.
And for some of you, you’ll be able to do both!
Put that into practice this week, and that’s your Monday Mindset.
