On good habits, the four agreements, and letting go of defining yourself
BASKETBALL TIP
If you’re a role player or trying to move up the rotation, understand this:
Your game isn’t being judged on highlights, it’s being judged on habits.
How you sprint to the corner.
How you box out.
How you listen in the huddle.
Coaches and scouts are looking for glue, not glory.
LEADERSHIP LESSON
“The Four Agreements:
- Be impeccable with your word.
- Don’t take anything personally.
- Don’t make assumptions.
- Always do your best.”
– Don Miguel Ruiz
LIFE PRINCIPLE
“Give up defining yourself – to yourself or to others. You won’t die. You will come to life.
And don’t be concerned with how others define you. When they define you, they are limiting themselves, so it’s their problem. Whenever you interact with people,
don’t be there primarily as a function or a role, but as the field of conscious presence.
You can only lose something that you have, but you cannot lose something that you are.”
– Eckhard Tolle
