  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Stop Trying to Find Balance

Hey, everybody. I’m sitting here in front of my computer because today is a really big day for us. We’re officially launching our new brand, PGC Coaching, to our 100,000 coaches worldwide. Super excited about what we’re going to be bringing to life over the weeks and months ahead to provide a world class resource to support basketball coaches at every level of play.

The reason I mention this is because the past week has been absolutely insane with just getting ready. If you’ve ever launched a product, you know what that’s like. But even over the past month, I’ve traveled to the US multiple times to visit our camps and our coaching clinics in different states. So it’s been a crazy, crazy month.

If you’ve ever felt like life is a whirlwind and you’ve felt out of balance, I have one thought for you today as your Monday Mindset. It’s very simply stop trying to find balance in your life.

    Yeah, I said it.

Stop trying to find balance in your life. Because balance is elusive, and the search and quest for it will leave you frustrated.

You might have balance for a day, a week, maybe if you’re lucky, even a month, and then life gets in the way.

So what should you do instead? Instead, pulse.

Pulse. Where you push hard, kind of like your heart beating, and then there’s a break and then you push hard and then there’s a break.

    Life has seasons.

Some of you may be taking care of elders. You may be raising kids. You might be in the midst of schoolwork and sports and trying to balance everything, and what you find is it’s difficult to balance. Accept the fact that you’re in a season you might be pulsing.

Make sure the pulse doesn’t become a lifestyle because you need breaks, you need times to retreat back, rest, recover, replenish, refuel, and then you’re set to pulse again.

Instead of trying to search for that elusive thing called balance, see your life and your years and months as seasons, and then pulse as you need to.

    That’s your Monday Mindset.
