Today’s Monday Mindset: This Just Happened…
This just happened.
We were taking my son, Zachary, back to the airport in Toronto to fly out, to go back to England, where he goes to school.
He suddenly realized that this flight was actually an hour and a half earlier than anticipated, which meant we were way late and we had to fly out the door and were making a mad dash to try and get to the airport on time.
I kept reminding myself, “Take the long view.”
This too shall pass.
And at some point in time, even if it’s a horror in the moment, it’ll be a funny memory down the road.
So as I was driving, I did my best to maintain my peace by taking that long view. And it helped.
I was able to be present, able to talk with him on the drive and enjoy the drive.
Lo and behold, not only did he make the flight, but even though it was after the bag drop cutoff time, his bag actually made it through by God’s grace.
I say all of that to say things have a way of working out. And even when they don’t, there’s always something to learn from it, or over time, a memory to be had.
So my challenge is keep your peace by taking the long view. Remind yourself that this too will be a memory at some point in time.
Put that into practice. That’s your Monday Mindset.
