  • Today’s Monday Mindset: Welcome Feedback

What’s your approach when somebody tries to give you feedback?

Lean in on this one because it’s so hard to do.

We tend to get defensive. We deflect, we blame. We point the finger elsewhere.

Here’s my challenge. Welcome feedback as a gift.

    A gift.

    Why a gift?

Because somebody cares enough about you to tell you something that they’re seeing that you may not see in yourself.

And I know it could be hard to receive.

I’ve had to work on this myself and to not get defensive, but to say there’s something for me to learn here.

There’s a hint of truth in something everybody says or shares.

So put into practice welcoming feedback as a gift, because if you see it as a gift, you’ll receive it and say, this is an opportunity for me to learn, grow, change, and get better.

It is a gift if you’ll receive that feedback as a gift.

That’s my challenge and that’s your Monday Mindset.
