  • A decade ago, the NBA looked nothing like the game we watch today. Teams rarely fired up 30 threes a night, and the idea of a championship team relying heavily on long-range shooting felt unrealistic. Then Stephen Curry arrived — and everything changed.

The Golden State Warriors’ run beginning in 2015 didn’t just produce championships; it sparked a basketball revolution. Steph’s limitless range, lightning-quick release, and ability to score in more ways than any guard before him pushed the league into a new era.

Suddenly, shots that once seemed outrageous became normal:

    • Deep pull-ups
    • Logo threes
    • Off-movement, high-difficulty jumpers

And the rest of the league quickly followed.

What makes Curry special isn’t just that he shoots threes — it’s how he gets them. His scoring versatility is unmatched

    • Off the dribble (right or left)
    • Off screens and handoffs
    • Off the catch
    • With elite footwork and balance
    • Finishing at the rim with both hands despite being undersized

He moves relentlessly without the ball, changes speeds to create separation, and reads defenses like a quarterback.

Golden State’s system amplifies all of this

    • Constant screening
    • Smart handoffs
    • Continuous off-ball movement
    • Early pickup points forced on defenders because of his range

Steph didn’t just change the NBA; he changed basketball itself. Kids now step onto courts and pull from way behind the arc, inspired by a player whose greatness comes from skill, not size. He proved that mastery and creativity can reshape a sport, and his influence is felt at every level of the game.

Steph isn’t just one of the best to ever play — he’s one of the few who truly changed how the game is played.
    Overall impact:

Steph Curry recalibrated how basketball is played at every level

He is one of the greatest players ever and the central figure behind the NBA’s modern style of high-volume three-point shooting.
