On Sunday, March 13, 2011, the Trinity Western University Spartans battled perennial Canadian national champion Carleton University Ravens in the 2011 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Championship finals. PGC grad, Kyle Coston, a fourth-year forward from Blaine, Wash., added 13 points and nine boards in the championship game.

Marquette senior guards Angel Robinson and Tatiyiana McMorris earned All-BIG EAST Conference honors. Robinson was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, while McMorris picked up second team honors.
James Madison senior guard Dawn Evans was selected as the 2011 Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball Player of the Year in voting by the league’s head coaches. The announcement was made Wednesday evening at the CAA’s pre-tournament banquet in National Harbor, Maryland.

University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball junior, Jacqui Kalin, has been named the 2011 Jackie Stiles MVC Player of the Year – becoming the first-ever Panther in league history to earn this award. Kalin is the league leader in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6) and free throw percentage (.921), ranks third in scoring (15.1), seventh in three-point field goals made (1.8) and eighth in assists (3.1).
The No. 1 University of Connecticut women’s basketball team was well represented when the 2011 Major Awards were announced by the BIG EAST at a press conference. Bria Hartley (PGC grad 2010) earned Freshman of the Year honors. Hartley becomes the 11th Husky to be named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year.
The Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors announced the 2010-11 Naismith Award midseason list. The top 30 women’s basketball players are on the list. Player selection is based on performances from the 2010-11 basketball season. The prestigious Naismith Trophy will be awarded on April 4, 2011 during the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Indianapolis.
After wrapping up the Patriot League regular-season title with road wins at Lafayette and Colgate last week, Bucknell swept the league’s weekly awards on Monday. Sophomore guard Bryson Johnson (PGC grad 2005, 2008) earned his first Anaconda Patriot League Player of the Week Award.
