  • Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.

    Talent will not;
    nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.

    Genius will not;
    unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

    Education will not;
    the world is full of educated derelicts.

    Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
    –Calvin Coolidge

    Some ideas worth sharing are better off left to stand on their own. I hope that this poem provides you with the fuel to drive you toward your big dreams. It was shared by the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team Coach, Allison McNeill. She had it on her wall since she was a young athlete in high school. Perhaps it will make it onto the wall of a few other young aspiring basketball players too.
